Took it out for the first cut of the season on the day I received it. Have tall weeds and leaves covering yard. Mower had no problem cutting through everything. I used the bag, all the clipping were packed tightly in the bag, filling it completely. The handle is padded and comfortable to use. The handle is fixed in position which makes it easy to control the mower. I have a steep slope to mow so the fixed handle works well for me, but it takes up room when stowed. The switch is on the right hand side so your always holding it with your right hand. When you release the switch the mower stops immediately. If you are expecting quiet, this is not it. I bought this in the Spring of 2004 and have used it all summer. I am very pleased and will never go back to a gas mower. It is so easy to use, even easy to mow the steep slope in front of my house. It mulches terrific without a trace. I have mowed wet grass with it and high grass and it keeps going strong. With the two year warranty, I can rest assured that even if something goes wrong next summer, I will still have a great mower another year. Next time I might try a cordless model as I have very small trees and some shrubs in the yard and the cord can occasionally run into those if I am not paying close enough attention. My husband and I are over 60 and find the Black and Decker Lawn Mower great. We live in the south and it gets mighty hot and the grass is very thick and hard for us to cut with a gas mower. Black & Decker LM175 18-Inch 6-1/2 amp Electric Mower

My gas mower died and I was without a mower for a couple of summers. I finally had to buy one, but didn't want another gas mower because I don't believe they are safe enough. I was going to buy the B & D Lawn Hog, which is a bit larger and costs more, when I happened to find the 175 here. It has lower amps than the Lawn Hog, but is perfect for my needs. I was surprised at the power it delivers but is easily kept under control. And while lightweight, it doesn't bounce around during mowing. Another nice feature is the start lever in the handle. You just pull it toward you and it starts as easily as any other electric appliance. Remove your hand, and the lever falls back and the machine immediatly shuts off. This is a wonderful machine! Assembly took less than 5 minutes from the box. It took only 2 bolts and 4 nuts to completely assemble. The mower is lightweight and rolls easily. You can easily adjust the cutting height with one lever instead of having to adjust each wheel one at a time. You only need to push a button and pull back the lever to start this mower. I also like the fact that while cutting it releases zero emissions and runs quietly. It is also easy to re-charge the mower when finished. Another plus is the fact that I no longer need to transport gasoline inside vehicle. My car doesn't have a trunk so I always had to put the gas can in the back seat floorboard, and smell gas in the car for the next few days. I think this is a great machine for a single mom or woman who isn't good with machines--look, I'm a woman so I can say this! It also has a safety key so your kids can't just go and start it up. It's also green, so anyone who wants something super easy will like this. This is good for a small yard, or you will need to recharge. Black & Decker MTE912 12-Inch Electric 3-in-1 Trimmer/Edger and Mower, 6.5-Amp

This is a great product for that overgrown yard where you should have mowed the weeds before they got three feet tall. If you have one, you know what I mean. The mower will down all but the toughest sorts of weeds (blackberries and such) and those will have to be dealt with otherwise. If the weed patch you hit is too much for the mower, the trimmer will tend to detach, letting you know it's time for the pruning sheers. The string trimmer on it's own works great also, but is tiring to hold if you have any issues with that sort of thing. The great thing about the mower is that there is minimal fatigue encountered for the entire time that the battery lasts (15 minutes?)
